Exploitation

Species such as Hediste diversicolor, Arenicola marina and Cerastoderma edule, dwelling in the sediment between rocky substrata, may be locally exploited for fishing bait or personal consumption on a small scale. Whilst searching for these species, cobbles and pebbles may be turned over and the sediment disturbed.
