Biotope importance
The biotope is nationally rare and supports the nationally rare hydroid Hartlaubella gelatinosa. The biotope has been identified as a key biotope within the Annex I habitat feature 'Estuaries' within the Plymouth Sound and Estuaries candidate Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
