- 500 or more segments.
- Yellow spines.
- Curved, with a sharp edge, claws (chaetae) on the first 40-80 segments.
- Four short hairs from the tail end.
Habitat
- Found from low water to considerable depths.
- Habitats include clean sand, shell gravel and algae holdfasts.
- Found on all coasts.
