  • Pale pink or red colour.
  • 500 or more segments.
  • Yellow spines.
  • Curved, with a sharp edge, claws (chaetae) on the first 40-80 segments.
  • Four short hairs from the tail end.

Habitat Habitat

  • Found from low water to considerable depths.
  • Habitats include clean sand, shell gravel and algae holdfasts.
  • Found on all coasts.
