- Long sharp pointed spines, up to 3 cm long.
- Dark purple to dark green.
- Sometimes bores into rocks.
- May cover itself with pieces of shell or seaweed.
Where to look:
Found on the lower shore.
Effects of warming sea:
Warm water species that should increase in abundance.
