Search of overhanging high gully wall perpendicular to predominant wave action, much favoured by cowries, revealed 5 patches not concealed under thick coating of slime. Bluish colours. Very abundant in limited area	04/06/2012	Greencliff Area of overhanging rock strata running at right-angles to the sea, with gullies open to NW, often sandy-bottomed. Lower part of wave-cut platform, with upper beach comprising large and very dynamic pebble ridge backed by high cliffs. Erosion of softer rock has created many shady crevices.	Several patches found amongst loose stones and under rocky overhangs in small gullies formed by eroded strata of appx 3-4 feet height; but extremely extensive colonis of great variety of colours encrusting perhaps 30 m stretch at base of deepest gully (10 foot overhanging wall on SW side). At low tide level and a little above and below. (Previous searches earlier in year revealed very few patches).	Robert Durrant
